Refrigeration & AC Mechanic- Mon-Fri ll:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Requisition Number: 21131BR Install, operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair all types of refrigeration, air conditioning, heating and ventilating equipment and controls. Operate and maintain heating, ventilating, air conditioning, water conditioning/treatment and refrigeration systems. Also, operate and maintain ancillary systems such as cooling towers, as required. Install, trouble-shoot, maintain and repair air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, related piping within the unit and controls. Experience in pneumatic and DDC controls, wiring methods, and instrumentation is required. Work from CAD drawings, prints, schematics, sketches or verbal instructions. Adapt and install specialized cooling and/or heating devices for specific requirements. Experience with water treatment methods, and procedures for cooling and hot water circulation systems including testing of basic parameters, and troubleshooting, and repair of equipment. Must be licensed to handle and recover CFC’s Operate efficiently, all hand/power tools, test instruments and equipment normally used by this trade and maintain/return in good condition Provide full arrangement of tools that are required to perform tasks. Ability to perform work outside of trade to include other duties as assigned by Management including but not limited to: painting, carpentry, light bulbs replacement, snow removal, installation of pipe, plumbing and other maintenance related tasks. Qualifications High school graduate, or equivalent, Vocation or technical school certification 5-7 year's experience in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning practice at a journeyman level. Electronic and Pneumatic controls and diagrams, and five years of experience work as a Refrigeration & AC mechanic in an industrial or research environment. Completion of a NJ State Certified Apprenticeship in Refrigeration and HVAC systems is highly desired Must be able to adequately perform required job functions. This includes being able to lift, bend, and move in such a way as to perform job tasks in a safe and approved manner. Must be able to operate required hand/power tools, test instrumentation, and equipment required by this trade in a safe and approved manner. Environmental conditions will vary based on job being performed.
