To learn more about our company, please visit us at: www.ethiconendo.com R&&D Engineering Co-opDuties && Responsibilities:As a co-op in the R&&D department at Ethicon Endo-Surgery, you will have the opportunity to use state of the art tools and take advantage of training courses offered on-site. You will be assigned to a specific product team to perform testing, experimentation and validation to support product design. Responsibilities will increase with each rotation as you learn more by returning to school. Rotations are generally 6 months and availability for multiple rotations is desired. Assignment activities and responsibilities include: Contribute to design solution activity through utilization of previously learned skills with CAD tools, simulation tools, fundamental engineering principles, and expertise from seasoned Team Engineers. Receive anatomy training, which includes application to instrument design as it relates to surgical procedures. Assist in developing advanced RDL testing, interpreting results, and recommending next steps. Rotation to other franchises or business units, if available, to grow breadth of knowledge.Intermediate CAD training, if applicable, to include building simulation models, developing kinematics models, and performing stack-up analysis. Qualifications: Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related field Minimum GPA is 3.0 Must be available to work Winter 2009 Demonstrated leadership/participation in campus programs and/or community service activities.
