Protein Biochemist, Leads Discovery

Biochemist

Primary Responsibilities:
Bench scientist with strong skills in protein biochemistry and enzymology, and experience in cell biology/molecular biology techniques to generate and characterize high quality protein reagents for molecular targeted drug discovery efforts at OSI. The candidate will need to apply critical thinking to the design and production of appropriate reagents for HTS campaigns and will also be responsible for detailed biochemical characterization of protein targets of interest to OSI's small molecule drug discovery teams. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a high level of understanding of diverse enzymes and cellular signaling systems, and will be expected to identify and drive implementation of advances in technologies relevant to the functions of the Leads Discovery group. The successful candidate will be an important contributor to the selection of new targets and construction of drug discovery assay strategies and will be expected to contribute to multiple drug discovery project teams. The candidate will need to work together with representatives from multiple departments within OSI and must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work on diverse projects running in parallel in a challenging fast-paced team oriented environment.

Education/Experience Required:
Ph.D. and 0-5 years post doc experience is required, preferably including some exposure to a drug discovery setting within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
