Project Manager - Hips - (Job Number: 0807925) DescriptionDePuy, Inc. develops and markets products under the DePuy Orthopedics, DePuy Spine, CODMAN® and MITEK® brands. DePuy Orthopedics and DePuy Trauma and Extremities provide products for reconstructing damaged or diseased joints, and for repairing and reconstructing traumatic skeletal injuries. Depuy, Inc., a member of Johnson && Johnson's Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for a Staff Engineer, Hip Product Development located in Warsaw, IN. The Project Manager is responsible for the commercialization and delivery of products to the Orthopaedic market that positions DePuy as a leader in the industry. Works to establish a competitive advantage for all new product introduction programs and projects that are part of an overall product portfolio. Uses leadership skills to ensure that cross-functional resources are assigned and held accountable for task and outcome completion. Ensures that products are launched on time and meet established goals and objectives that support the financial and competitive goals of the organization. The Project Manager will also be responsible for managing projects within portfolio and makes commitments to meet specific business goals and objectives, manage and track project budget with components that include human resources, prototypes, suppliers, and general expenses to meet established return on investments per project, provide competitive and business analysis to Global Program Director and Program Managers that is then relayed to the WW Business Team to aid in developing the program and project strategies. Also, actively address offensive and defensive infringement and patent protection as it applies to projects, actively involved with design surgeons and customers aligned with new product development project, ensures cross-functional resources are aligned and assigned to tasks and deliverables that are part of the program management and project plan, use interdependent partnering for developing relationships for appropriate regulatory, marketing, clinical, testing, manufacturing and prototyping resources and support and apply the PACE process, Stage Gates and use of Design Excellence tools as part of the commercialization process. A minimum of a Bachelors degree in technical field or equivalent experience in medical device field is required. A graduate degree is a plus. A minimum of 3 years of product development experience as an individual contributor in medical devices or a related field is required. Orthopedic implant, instrument and technology design experience is preferred. Must have the ability to manage project budgets within guidelines, and to prioritize and complete multiple projects with varying degrees of complexity and apply project management skills, which result in meeting project goals and objectives. Must have the ability to ensure compliance to FDA, MDD, etc. to design control regulations; and the ability to effectively utilize both written and oral communication formats when making presentations resulting in the obtainment of overall company goals and objectives; Must have experience with effectively using negotiation and conflict resolution skills, must be able to build effective interdependent partnering relationships and must be able to demonstrate and integrate the Global Standards of Leadership into all business practices and activities.
