Job Description:

Specialty Chemicals Division, is seeking a high energy Production Manager to be an essential part of our Business Team.  As the successful candidate you will lead the Management of the Production Department at our Maine Manufacturing Facility. As production manager you will be charged with motivating and influencing others in all aspects of the production process.  You'll have the ability to influence others and lead the facility toward organizational excellence.

Responsibilities:

Ensure that safety is top priority; while continuously improving production volumes, costs, and quality.  Lead, develop, and coordinate with a variety of teams including engineering, maintenance, technical, and financial resources to achieve executional excellence within the facility.

Safety:
Have the leadership and direction to develop and maintain an accident-free working environment in the production areas and site wide--using a number of methods including a Behavior-Based Safety model.
Further develop and implement the operating systems and procedures to confirm that production processes are in compliance with CPG Process Safety Standards.

Manager of Department:
Provide effective leadership to direct reports emphasis on planning, teamwork, training and development for all employees to meet facility objectives.  Ensure that plant policies and procedures are communicated, applied consistently and that high ethical standards are maintained.
Manage and measure the performance of direct reports in their knowledge, skill, and behavior using the client Performance Management Process.

Cost Control:
Establish budget standards and ensure effective control of costs including material efficiencies, rate efficiency, labor, and operating supplies and services.  Monitor inventory levels to maintain at the
Division's targeted levels.

Job Requirements:
 
Knowledge/Skills and Certifications:
B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering (highly preferred), Chemistry or related technical discipline MBA helpful but not required. 
Developed skills and knowledge in business management, HR, financial control and technical knowledge of unit operations.

Experience:
-A minimum of 3-5 years supervisory/management experience, with 5-10 years in process industry-chemical, pharmaceutical or food ingredients manufacturing.
-Experience in heavy industrial or chemical technical applications required.
-A knowledge/experience of colloidal technology is a definite plus.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a high demand environment.  Physically able to climb stairs and move throughout warehouse and manufacturing environment.
