Production Chemist II
Position Description:
Under moderate supervision by senior staff, this position is responsible for a variety of production and technical chemistry functions that support the qualitative diagnostic product platforms. Specific functions may include protein conjugation, application of proteins to membrane, making antibody and conjugate beads, the operation and maintenance of lab equipment, and execution/documentation of procedures/tasks according to established QSR, ISO, ISO 13485, CMDR and other pertaining regulations. Tasks and Responsibilities:?Carry out production tasks in support of Operations goals and objectives.?Operate laboratory equipment safely, as trained and directed, in accordance with established practices.?Maintain records and notebooks as directed in a neat, thorough and accurate manner. Perform required data entry on company planning and materials management system. Maintain accurate and timely inventory control practices. Report results to supervisor.?Maintain a neat, safe, and organized workplace. Ensure materials are appropriately labeled, approved for use, and in sufficient quantity to complete required tasks.?Propose and prepare new documents and document revisions to ensure accurate BOM’s and process descriptions.?Follow all safety guidelines, manufacturing policies and procedures. Operate under strict QSR, and ISO compliance.?Participate in product/process troubleshooting and validations.?Manufacture solutions, reagents, conjugates, membranes, and beads.?Perform complex formulations, component and materials evaluations, equipment calibrations and maintenance.?Carry out functions which may require multiple task coordination.?Knowledgeable of federal and other regulations, e.g. QSR’s, ISO, ISO 13485, CMDR?Other responsibilities as assigned.?Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices.

Qualifications:
Preferred education background:BA or BS in Chemistry or Biological sciencesPreferred experience or background:One to four years experience (BA/BS) or no experience (MA/MS): Ability to follow detailed instructions, maintain accurate records and notes, and carry out assignments in a thorough, conscientious fashion while adhering to safe laboratory practices. Knowledge of conjugation chemistry, operation of a variety of lab equipment, and validation experience is preferred.
