Product Development Project Engineer: Medical DevicesSouth Florida Our client, a South Florida based global leader in the reconstruction surgical products is seeking a Product Development Project Engineer  to provide continuous product development and  innovation. Applying their engineering discipline and project management skills to the conceptualization, proof of concept, design, prototyping, test development, analysis of engineering data and testing results for feasibility of new product. Providing theoretical and practical engineering assessment of mechanical and biomechanical design characteristics and properties of designs and technologies intended purpose and desired functionality. Additional responsibilities include: Â·  Recommends methods, processes, materials, designs, and vendors for potential products and their intended use, in a regulated, medical device industry.·  Conceptualizes, develops and collaborates on design parameter definitions from various sources including marketing input, reverse engineering assessments, competitive analysis, various technologies, customer input, clinical/journal publications and standards.·  Applies engineering and textbook analysis as appropriate to design concepts and prototype evaluations to characterize design attributes and boundary conditions. Understands structural mechanics including mechanical fatigue, abrasion, elasticity, stress/strain, fracture, and other properties.·  Develops briefs, reports, memorandums, and presentation materials as required to communicate feasibility project concepts, and progress of ongoing selected projects.  Â·  Develops and conducts testing on designs through internal and external resources through protocols or agreements and analyzes/reports results suitable for publication or internal design verification.·  Reviews and ensures designs meet manufacturing, regulatory and quality requirements in the course of development. Provides failure mode & effects analysis.·  Creates 3-D CAD models and engineering drawings, including tolerance and attribute descriptions and develops and documents specifications for new products including test methods, and when necessary measurement systems.·  Assists in the support and management of external research studies.  Procures all related study materials (e.g., implants, surgical tools, etc.). Requirements:R  BS in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering from an ABET accredited university R  2+ years of relevant experience, preferably in medical device  R  Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents  R  Proven ability to respond to common inquiries, regulatory agencies, or members of the business communityR  Ability to develop presentations and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Interested?  Email you resume to Jennifer@mriweston.com MRINetwork, one of the world's largest search and recruitment organizations, has over 1,000 offices in more than 35 countries.
