By applying for a position with Genzyme, you are taking the first step toward becoming a part of our dynamic and talented team, and sharing in our continued success.Job Responsibilities:Characterize physical interactions of drug candidates with protein targets by performing biophysical analyses with an array of techniques including binding assays (SPR/Biacore and others) and calorimetry (DSC, ITC). Develop binding assays to identify leads for small molecule drug discovery projects. Evaluate and define appropriate and novel approaches, employing your technical knowledge to solve problems. Solutions may involve the formulation and testing of a hypothesis or the development of new techniques and procedures. Basic Requirements: Applicant must have BS/BA in a Biological Sciences discipline (Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, etc.) and 6+ years of experience with biophysical techniques or MS degree and 3+ years experience in the above. Preferred Requirements:Candidate must be enthusiastic, well organized, have outstanding communication skills, and excel working proactively in a true team environment. Hands-on experience with enzyme or cell-based assay development and validation is highly desirable. Experience with protein purification/characterization and/or HTS is desirable.~hj~.
