Principal Engineer

Principal Engineer In this role you will work closely with software engineers to identify requirements-related issues, explore alternative resolutions and work with cross-functional team members consisting of technical spec writers, marketing, medical, regulatory, program, software development and software test management. Other responsibilities: Oversee platform software design and the overall system architecture covering features, functionality, reliability and performance Serve as a senior level individual contributor that works well with minimum direction on assigned tasks Seek guidance/clarification as required Oversee product and software requirements definition and requirements process development Manage cross-disciplinary requirements and design trade-offs Identify risk, assess, mitigate and assist the creation of hazards analysis investigation and failure mode analysis Identify approaches and make recommendations for software design and development To be successful in this position, you must possess: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree is preferred Minimum of 7+ years experience in software and systems engineering 7+ years of embedded software design and development experience 5+ years of C++ development experience Experience in embedded graphical user interface design and development, including performance constraints in an embedded environment Strong knowledge of object oriented analysis and design methodologies Excellent verbal and written communication skills Medical products expertise or mission critical applications is strongly preferred Some design pattern knowledge is preferred We offer an agile, yet balanced work culture and the types of compensation and benefits you’d expect from an industry leader.
