Biotest Biopharmaceuticals is focused on developing and marketing products that address unmet medical needs and offer commercial opportunities in our core business areas: Hepatitis and transplant, Gram-positive bacterial infections and nicotine addiction.DescriptionCoordinates Plasma Fractionation shift manufacturing operations. Working Group Leader responsible for work assignments and production performance of a team of 4-10 people. Utilizes large scale batch processing tanks, centrifuges, filters, process automation software, CIP, etc in performing Cohn cold alcohol fractionation of Human Source Plasma. Responsibilities will include selecting and training others in production operations during a ramp-up of production, coordination of work with other teams, adherence to cGMP and quality system documentation. Requires mechanical / process aptitude, knowledge of cGMP manufacturing requirements, ability to lead others. Initial assignments, in addition to routine production requirements will include assisting with commissioning and validation of new, expanded production equipment leading to start-up and rapid ramp up to full production scale. Mfg operations will eventually require 24x7 shifts and positions are currently open for all shifts. Flexibility to adjust to required shifts during expansion and start-up is required.Required SkillsGood verbal / written communication and math skills. Knowledge of the metric system. Mechanical aptitude and automated process equipment operation skills are important. Must be able to lift/push/pull heavy equipment. Must be able to work in a cold (freezer) environment at times. Leadership and team skills are essential. Ability to work well with other functional groups. Working knowledge of typical process lab instruments such as pH, conductivity meters, etc is expected.Required ExperienceBachelor's degree in a life science preferred but will consider equivalent combination of relevant course work and work experience. Preference given for Plasma Fractionation manufacturing experience, but will consider relevant Biotech, Pharmaceutical manufacturing and leadership experience.
