McGuff Pharmaceuticals, Inc. currently has a current opening for a Pharmaceutical Engineer within our Manufacturing Division located in Santa Ana, CA.

Description/Key Responsibilities: Product and Process Development for Targeted Products Qualification of New Process Equipment and Facilities Validation of Manufacturing Processes Troubleshooting and Corrective Action of Processing Errors Coordinating Maintenance Activities Develop a complete and detailed understanding of production processes.  This will include direct hands on training and performance of production activities such as container/closure processing, aseptic filling, capping, compounding, etc…

The Engineer will assist with design and development of products and manufacturing processes for various drug products, taking into consideration engineering problems inherent in initial process development.  Such design and development will include new and revised processes, considering factors such as mixing, chemical reaction times and parameters, content uniformity, stability, etc.   The qualified candidate will be capable of coordinating and executing equipment IQ/OQ/PQ and process validations as required.  Responsibilities will also include production, monitoring activities, and evaluations to determine control over applicable variables, as well as troubleshooting and solving production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation.Minimum Requirements:

·        Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related scientific discipline.

·        The preferred candidate will have 2 – 5 years of direct work experience in the Pharmaceutical industry with an emphasis in supporting product development of sterile injectable products.  This will include knowledge and understanding of cGMPs, experience in Pharmaceutical Production, Engineering, Quality Assurance, technical report writing and drug application submission. The individual must exhibit good oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, be well-organized and able to work in teams as well as independently.
