Peptide Chemist
Description
We areseeking a highly self motivated, energetic and experienced peptide chemist tocontribute their expertise to the research and development of the company’snovel polypeptide nanofilm-based artificial cell synthetic vaccines and adjuvants. The position level will be determined by years of experience andtechnical knowledge. Essential Duties andResponsibilities: Â
·      Plan, manage, and conduct production and post-productionmodification of peptides, and related products (building blocks, substrates, inhibitors,etc.)
·      Analyze, characterize, and purifypeptides and peptide-based products
·      Provide Quality Control and Quality Assurance of outsourcedpeptide-based products. Contribute to the design and optimization of the company’s synthetic vaccine formulations.  Assist in the company’s efforts to network and collaborate with individuals in academia and industry to better understand market requirements and product opportunities Provide written reports and submit patent applications when appropriate. Maintain laboratory notebooks in a detailed and descriptive manner. Conduct regular communication with participant scientists and critical reviews of their data, methods, and protocols. Participate in scientific discussion with colleagues through scientific seminars and meetings.  Other duties, as assigned from time to time by company management

Essential Education, Skills,and Knowledge:Â
The successful applicant will have an M.S. and preferablya Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or closely-related discipline anda minimum of 3-5years experience in solution and solid-phase peptide synthesis. Preferredcandidates will possess extensive laboratory expertise, excellent problemsolving and sound verbal and written communication skills. Production management experience is aplus. In addition:
·      Experience with HPLC and related purification and analytical technologies
·      Ability to work independently and productively and to contributecreatively in a collaborative team environment. Â
·      The ability to develop and implement research plans that arealigned with department priorities.
·      Strong interpersonal and managerial skills.
·      Commitment to maintaining high laboratory standards with regardto quality and safety
