Pathology Technician I - 08-047R

Bridge Laboratories is a US-owned, preclinical contract research organization (CRO) that provides US-level regulatory compliant drug development services globally.  Bridge is headquartered in Gaithersburg, Maryland, with AAALAC accredited lab facilities in the US and Beijing, China. Bridge is known for its extensive work in toxicology; including vaccines, developmental and reproductive toxicology, and safety pharmacology.  Bridge’s facility in China was among the first labs to perform GLP studies for clients worldwide.

We are currently looking for a Pathology Technician who will be located in Gaithersburg, MD.

 

Responsibilities:Overall management of assigned studies/projects in accordance with established protocols, SOPs, GLPs, AAALAC and other pertinent regulations/agency requirements.Procedures range from prosection of various species to histology techniques such as trim, embed, stain, coverslip, process and microtome.Record observations and collect data via data capture systems.Maintains equipment, necropsy room sanitation and proper storage of supplies.Overtime and weekend work as required.May work with potentially hazardous substances including potential/known teratogens, carcinogens and/or radiolabeled test materials.Can be required to wear PPE (personal protective equipment).May train less experienced technicians.

 

Requirements:

· One to three years experience in a Toxicology Laboratory is highly desirable as is a “working knowledge” of GLPs, agency/regulatory requirements and proper documentation practices.

· Effective oral and written communication skills.Proficiency in basic PC applications such as MS Word and Email.Ability to work independently as well as a team member.Flexibility in the face of shifting priorities.Capacity to produce high quality results across multiple projects while working under the pressure of short deadlines and other demands associated with a fast-paced laboratory environment.An A.A.S. (Bachelor’s preferred) in the Life Sciences is highly desirable as is ALAT &/or HT Certifications.
