Sr. Analyst Market Research: My client, a small pharmaceutical company located in Central NJ, develops specialty therapeutics for GI and Endocrine disorders.  The company is currently advancing two late-stage products, one that is in Phase 3 clinical development for intestinal failure related to short bowel syndrome, and one in Phase 2 clinical development for hormone therapy for hypoparathroidis.  The company possesses expertise in the discovery and development of both small, orally active molecules, and recombinant proteins, creating a broad platform of opportunity on which to build.  The company complements its internal products with strategic partnerships with other pharma companies. The company has been in business for 20+ years.  The culture is entrepreneurial, hands-on, fast-paced, very dynamic, collaborative and high visibility.  If you are looking for an opportunity where you can shine, this might be it.  It's an opportunity to roll up your sleeves, get your hands dirty, and wear many different hats. As the only person in market research for the organization, you will have a vast amount of responsibility - primary & secondary research, forecasting, new product evaluations, etc.  As a very small company, exposure is great...you will be working side by side with the VP of Commercial Operations, the CEO of the company, and many others. While the need to fill this position is high, finding the right person is their number one priority.  The company wants to ensure that they bring on board the RIGHT person, not just any person.LOCAL CANDIDATES - NO RELO TITLE: Sr. Market Research AnalystREPORTS TO: Vice President, Commercial OperationsSALARY RANGE:  Up to $85,000 - $95,000 base, plus 7% target bonusRELO:  Not provided.  Only considering local candidates at this point RESPONSIBILITIES:  Research market conditions in national and international markets (primary and secondary) Establish research methodologies (both internally and externally with vendors) based on the level of need Establish and examine statistical data to help forecast future market trends Gather data on competitors and analyze pricing, sales and other methods of marketing/distribution Support Brand Management with accurate information to facilitate decision making Conduct market analysis and competitive intelligence using secondary data Conduct pipeline assessments to advise management of competitive threats in therapeutic categories Review and interpret information through literature searches to advise management of the practices in maintenance and treatment of disease categories as required Keep abreast of market trends, sales, Rx and pricing data for the category Manage and execute qualitative and quantitative market research supporting the evolution of the brand and marketing activities Interact with market research vendors in directing their activities and assist them with the development of accurate sample plans and analytic plans. Assist with the development of  discussion guides for qualitative research Enhance internal knowledge by providing accurate interpretations of results using  reports and executive summaries to internal stakeholders Develop revenue forecast models for the drug based on information gathered from research. Update the brand management with revenue assumptions based on competitive environment and the most up-to-date internal understanding. Provide logistical, project management, tactical support for Brand Management Represent brand management on multi-disciplinary teams Work with business development team to analyze the competitive environment, as well as future marketing trends.
