We currently have available a National Deputy Director, within the Women's Healthcare Therapeutic Business Unit. The National Deputy Director is accountable for providing leadership and management of Medical Scientific Liaisons. The National Deputy Director takes the lead in developing an effective Scientific Affairs strategy that supports and augments the Medical Affairs and commercial business strategy for a therapeutic area. The National Deputy Director leads the therapeutic area core team and is responsible for prioritizing Scientific Affairs resources, activities and deliverables. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring consistency of processes, standards of practice, tools and communication methods within a therapeutic area to ensure overall success in achievement of goals and objectives within Scientific Affairs and respective Business Unit. In this leadership role, the incumbent will lead efforts in recruiting, hiring, developing, coaching and managing the performance of Regional Deputy Directors and Regional Scientific Managers/Medical Scientific Managers. In the case of a therapeutic team with a small number of MSLs, the Deputy Director may spend a portion of their time (20% or less) functioning as a MSL to provide additional coverage and support as necessary. Advanced degree in science-related field (MD, PharmD, PhD), or other appropriate knowledge/experience is required, with 7 + years experience in the pharmaceutical industry in medical affairs, clinical development, marketing or sales· 3-5 years management experience in medical affairs, clinical development, marketing or sales· 2-3 years MSL leadership experience·3-5 years managing programs/projects in a team environment· Strong knowledge of clinical development/operations· Ability to manage a diverse group of responsibilities· Proven leadership abilities· Strong negotiation and strategic influencing skills· Highly developed written or verbal communication skills· Highly developed initiative ability· Excellent project management skills· Strong organization and time management skills· Strong analytical and problem solving skills· Proven ability to perform successfully under stringent timelines and with competing priorities· Ability to collaborate and mentor other leaders and managers within Medical Affairs/Scientific Affairs PreferredPharmD, MD, PhDMinimum 2-3 years experience in a strategy-setting role within Medical AffairsExcellent computer skills: Excel, Word, Power Point, Lotus Notes, etc.Knowledge of information technology systems As a member of the Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals team, you'll find an environment that celebrates diversity and welcomes the open exchange of ideas and individual perspectives.
