Biomat USA, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Grifols,an international pharamaceutical company, is seeking Medical Supervisors (EMT/Paramedics, LPN, or RN) for its donor center in Birmingham, Alabama.
Biomat USA, Inc. operates 63 Plasma Donor Centers within the USA. Human plasma is used to create life saving medicines for bleeding disorders, immune system deficiencies, burns and shock.
The ideal candidate will provide medical coverage / advice, and assist in donor issues of safety, health, and suitability. Duties will include pre-donation health screening including the measurement of blood pressure, pulse, hematocrit, and weight. The performance of a basic physical examination and phlebotomy are also duties that the position might entail. This state of the art facility will collect blood-plasma from paid donors for manufacture into life-saving pharmaceutical products. The ability to interact with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds is required. Prior experience is not required. Industry specific training provided. Must be a licensed EMT/Paramedic, LPN or RN and have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to use a PC.
