Microbiologist

Job Purpose: Conduct appropriate microbiologic testing.

Job Duties:Organizes work by confirming product specifications. Maintains clean and safe work environment by maintaining aseptic methods and protocols; following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations Prepares cultures by obtaining in-process and finished product samples. Identifies micro-organisms by conducting microscopic examinations. Documents and reports quality results by completing reports and logs; communicating results and required adjustments to manufacturing. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations. Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results, as needed.

Position Requirements:Bachelor of Science in Biology 2-3 years experience as a Microbiologist. Knowledge of the principles of cGMP's and cGLP's. Knowledge of microbiology and wet chemistry. Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques, ability to follow procedures and instructions, and complete specific tasks assigned. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and troubleshooting skills preferred. Pro-active individual with strong problem solving, and organizational skills, self-starter, work in a team environment or independently.
