Medical Scientist (Nationwide Opening) - (Job Number: 0809437) DescriptionCordis Corporation, a member of Johnson && Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Medical Scientist, located Nationwide. For more than 40 years, Cordis Corporation has pioneered less invasive treatments for vascular disease. Technological innovation and a deep understanding of the medical marketplace and the needs of patients have made Cordis the world's leading developer and manufacturer of breakthrough products for interventional medicine, minimally invasive computer-based imaging, and electrophysiology. The Medical Scientist serves as the primary scientific expert in therapeutic franchise and support source for commercial operations. This includes training, communication and/or direct support efforts with physicians and administrators. The Medical Scientist will collaborate with Clinical Research in support of Phase II to IV clinical trials and investigator-initiated studies. They provide assistance on special projects in conjunction with Sales && Marketing, Clinical Research, R&&D, or Corporate functions. The Medical Scientist will analyze and interpret clinical and scientific studies and effectively communicate the results to a diverse customer base, including KOL's, Investigators, and other HCP's in a 1:1 or group setting within regulatory and HCC guidelines. They must understand clinical and business aspects of the market that impact the utilization of products and understand the Clinical Trial, Investigator Initiated Studies and Publication support processes and able to support key investigators in these areas according to a stated business plan within regulatory and HCC guidelines. The Medical Scientist will interact effectively with Sales and Marketing in areas of training and scientific meeting support according to a stated business plan and possess in-depth scientific and therapeutic knowledge of Cordis and competitive products as well as disease states. The Medical Scientist is responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level and for ensuring personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for health, safety and environmental compliance. The Medical Scientist is responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all company guidelines related to health, safety and environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition. The qualified candidate will have a minimum of BA/BS, with an advanced degree at the graduate level in life science preferred (e.g., Pharm.D., M.S., M.P.H., Ph.D., M.D.) and at least 2 years of work experience, preferably in related areas (scientific Liaison, medical communication, CRA, clinical research, academic position in health science research). Vascular disease experience is preferred. Position will require up to 70% domestic and international travel and excellent written and oral communication skills. Comfort with utilization of computer, company applications, and remote technology and the ability to demonstrate high organizational skills and sound judgment in all functions are required.
