Medical Editor

MedLearning is a dynamic, full service medical education agency providing excellence in the creation of compelling content and logistical program implementation to the healthcare industry.

 

We are currently looking for a full-time medical editor to provide editorial support for all facets of written or printed communications, such as newsletters, monographs, journal submission, slides, posters, slide kits, web sites and printed materials for distribution at live events.

 

The medical editor works with the scientific/medical, creative, program management and account services teams.

 

The following skills are required for this position:

  Excellent grammar, spelling and usage skills Able to identify differences between different versions of the same document Current knowledge of medical writing guidelines and AMA style Attention to detail Able to manage multiple projects at once Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong computer and organizational skills Must be an advanced user of Microsoft Office software platforms Able to multi-task  Able to copy edit in accordance with pharmaceutical style guides Able to fact check and annotate references/slides.

 

Other additional responsibilities include:

  Keeping style sheets up to date and noting deviations from the style guide Staying up-to-date on changes to AMA guidelines Reviewing cited references and ensuring they are formatted as per AMA guidelines Review copy for style consistency, accuracy, inclusion of required content, such as fair balance Ensuring all internal and external comments were incorporated as communicated to the company Electronically incorporating internal and external comments as required
