This position is located in Skillman, NJ. The Marketing Manager, Shopper Marketing is responsible for driving future and current instore and customer specific cross Product Group promotion strategies. Key areas of responsibility include future trends in Instore, cross Product Group event account specific promotion strategies, new customer specific retail marketing strategies, and organizational account specific promotion processes and training. Development of strategies will be established through partnership and collaboration with consumer promotions, customer teams, Product Groups and customers. Development will be the result of manager subject matter expertise in retail promotion strategies and vehicles, Instore marketing, and influencing additional opportunities against the shopper's path to purchase. The Marketing Manager will lead development of complete cross Product Group shopper marketing business plans for top customers and drive and sell in new and existing customer opportunities. The manager will drive development through keen understanding and leveraging of shopper insight learnings and cross functional partnership. The incumbent will be responsible for driving the testing and evaluation of current and future Instore vehicles, partnership with internal and external Instore experts, trends analysis, and retail promotional processes for the organization. The Manager will also act as a subject matter expert and advisor to the organization on Instore and retail promotion strategies. The Manager's goal is centered on maximizing business results around cross Product Group and account specific strategies. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Marketing plan development and activation of innovative instore and cross Product Group shopper marketing strategies at key customers. Examining key insights and business needs and establish objectives, strategies, and tactics to support goals. Development of account specific promotion and Instore vehicles processes and needed training. Driving alignment across consumer promotions team and Product Group business partners to support shopper marketing goals. Creating cross Product Group bundling opportunities that add customer value for J&&J, retailer, and shopper. Penetration of key customers marketing department and knowledge of retail and Instore promotion. Penetration across J&&J cross functional partners including marketing, global media team and agencies. Leveraging business analytics to influence agency process, direction, selection and management and development of concepts through final execution. Understanding of customer capabilities and opportunities. Gaining credibility as subject matter expert in Instore marketing, group events, retailer promotion strategies. Utilize team resources to analyze issues and opportunities group. Continued development of retail and account promotional strategies and tactics. Developing and implementing industry-leading strategies with decision-makers at both Customers and the Company that enhance business results, while recognizing the impact of decisions on the category at large and Company and Customer profitability and growth. A minimum of a 4-yr degree is required. A minimum of 9+ years prior promotional, shopper marketing and/or marketing related experience is required. Consumer Package Goods experience preferred. Retail customer experience preferred.Must have strong understanding and experience driving promotional strategies and tactics through to execution. Experience with driving customized retailer opportunities. Extensive knowledge of instore and promotional strategies and tactics and their effectiveness. Ability to effectively and proactively penetrate various levels of management at the customer and within J&&J. Comprehensive knowledge of consumer products industry, the Category, Brand strategies, competitive strategies, classes of trade, promotional strategies and the ability to apply this knowledge to solve complex problems and lead development of innovative strategies successfully. Strong communication skills, with the ability to listen to understand, and to transfer a selling strategy to address all market customers and channels with a long term view of the future state of the business. Effectively resolve competing priorities for assigned Customers, within Categories. Open and accessible, partnership leadership style, with the ability to consistently achieve positive results. Understands the needs of Customers and the needs of J&&J. Serves as liaison to ensure good strategic alignment of objectives and strategies. Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, complex matrix, changing environment. Strong negotiating skills, with the ability to influence up one or more levels and at top to top levels across J&&J and the Customer organization. Proven ability to provide customized shopper recommendations, based on industry and competitive data to enhance ability to win at the shelf and achieve outstanding business results. Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications, database information sources and web applications. Ability to assess information technology applications to improve current business environment. Strong influencing skills, with ability to positively influence senior management of both the Marketing and Sales functions strategy both at Company and Customer levels, providing early and constant input into new item process. Must possess the ability to initiate and execute a customer aligned strategy for a cross category platform.
