Market Research Manager (Pharmaceutical)
PURPOSE OF THE ROLEManage primary and secondary market research projects and secondary market data supporting the needs of inline therapeutic areas, managed markets, and new product planning, including:Build internal and external capabilities for information collection, including primary and secondary market research activities and market data for the Neurology Therapeutic Area organization Through execution of primary and secondary market research projects, the Manager is tasked with developing conclusions and recommendations that can be used by management and the marketing teams to make better business decisions, better understand customer segments and to identify opportunities and potential risks Collaborate closely within CPO to develop and implement methodologies and criteria for using primary and secondary market research, as well as competitive intelligence information, as inputs to the forecasts and market event models; Cover specific projects, as assigned, within current therapeutic areas, managed care, and new therapeutic areas Support annual planning processes by providing inputs to the external analysis / situational analysis and therapeutic area landscape Influence the teams by building and defending cogent arguments, challenging assumptions and gaining consensus opinion; Influence business decisions by challenging conventional wisdom with considered, data based points of view Provide US-based market research and market data as inputs into Global Business Intelligence initiativesConduct competitive assessments and other cross functional projects on an ad hoc basiswith co-promote partner and develop strong cross company relationshipsCoach, manage and supervise direct report(s) and/or project teams, as appropriatePROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCEThis position requires strong experience with the various methodologies of collecting and analyzing primary and secondary market research informationKnowledge about the pharmaceutical industry and within our in line disease areas (Neurology and Endocrinology) is desirableThe individual should have three to five years of market research experience within biotechnology / pharmaceutical and/or consumer products industries Experience including marketing or market analysis is a plusExperience managing multiple projects simultaneously is required
