Lonza Rockland Inc., currently has an opening for a self motivated Manufacturing Technician for our 2nd Shift (2 pm - 10:30 pm) at our Rockland Maine Facility. This position is located in our Manufacturing Department and reports to the Manufacturing Team Lead.

Our Rockland facility manufactures life science products based on very specific parameters and procedures in a modern manufacturing facility. All work in our industry is highly regulated (ISO, FDA, GMP) and specification controlled, so accuracy and attention to detail is a must.

The candidate who accepts this position will perform the following:Manufacture life science products to specific parameters utilizing solutions and process equipment. Manufacture products using mechanical equipment, chemicals, liquids and laboratory equipment.Assist in managing inventory levels for specific manufacturing processes conducted by 2nd shift. Assist day shift crew by staging materials for upcoming production runs Be flexible to attend training, meetings etc., during 1st shift as needed.

Job Interactions IncludeWork with other members of 2nd Shift to accomplish goals and produce product Work with team leaders and day shift technicians to schedule production and allocate resources. Participate in training for employees on production processes, quality requirements and safety policies Work closely with Planning to produce product

Candidate Requirements:

EducationMinimum H.S. Diploma or GED, Some college preferred, science related beneficial High School chemistry required

Related Experience/Skills5 years manufacturing experience (biotech or similarly regulated industry preferred) Basic computer skills, with experience in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) required, SAP/Lotus Notes knowledge preferred Knowledge of metric system, conversions, etc., Mechanical aptitude, ability to troubleshoot equipment as needed Strong attention to detail, strong work ethic, self motivated, able to work independently or in a team environment Good communication skills, both written and oral Some technical writing skills beneficial Sense of humor

Job and Physical RequirementsAbility to move throughout the facility and within manufacturing to produce product, and remain in close contact with chemicals used in operations Bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, ladder climbing required as needed. Ability to lift up to 55 lbs unassisted Ability to wear a respirator as needed Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
