Manager, Technical Assurance - (Job Number: 0808222) DescriptionJohnson && Johnson Consumer Products Company is recruiting for a Manager, to support Technical Assurance (TA) in Skillman, NJ. The Manager will provide technical leadership (including all Research && Development functions) for the qualification of alternative Raw Material Suppliers for existing formulations. This includes managing a department of 4+ professionals, interfacing with the analytical chemistry and procurement organizations, and leading the overall raw material qualification program including both cost improvements and business continuity. The Manager will be responsible and accountable for providing technical expertise in consumer/personal care products (emulsions, surfactants, toothpastes, suspensions, etc.) The individual will provide product development and technical service (technical assurance) support with emphasis on the following areas: product development (scale up and process development), technology transfer, line extensions, marketed product support and validation for new and existing products.The candidate will be accountable for both project and annual budgets. The Manager will need to be able to build strong business cases for his/her ideas and effectively sell these ideas to key stakeholders. The candidate will be expected to work in a cross-functional team environment and interface with different functional departments. In addition, the individual will support manufacturing investigations, troubleshoot technical issues and provide general technical support (including the execution of process and cost improvement projects) for manufacturing facilities and marketed products. The Manager will take an active role in hands-on participation, planning, guiding and leading technical projects and project teams. This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree (in Engineering, Life Science or related field) and at least 12+ years of relevant experience developing formulated consumer products, including emulsions, surfactants, toothpastes, suspensions, etc. An advanced degree is an asset. It would be preferred that the candidate have at least 5 years of people and/or project management experience. Microsoft MS Project experience is preferred. Additional training, certification and/or experience in Process Excellence (Green Belt, Black Belt) and/or Project Management (PM) are highly desired. The candidate must have the ability to represent the department on technical project teams and make project related decisions. It is required that this individual have a sense of urgency, the ability to communicate effectively, work without supervision, multitask, resolve technical issues, and possess leadership qualities and the capability of working within cross-functional teams. An in-depth technical knowledge base of formulated products including emulsions, surfactants, toothpastes, suspensions and liquid care consumer needs (including the professional consumer) and the competitive marketplace is required.
