Position Description:We are currently seeking a Manager for Sustaining Engineering.JOB PURPOSE:Plan, organize and direct Sustaining Engineering personnel to meet company objectives for new technical development and improvement of existing production lines. Budget and provide plans to accomplish project goals and company-wide priorities. Provide leadership to engineers in the form of motivating, training, career guidance and technical assistance.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Select correct design concepts and technologies used for new processes or improvement for existing ones.Review and analyze proposal submitted to determine if benefits derived justify expenditures.Provide direction and technical decision making for management involving capital asset purchases and expenses for projects and strategic activities involving up to and in excess of $10MM (capital/expenses).Review RCI's for technical soundness and completeness.Prepare and manage department budget in support of capital projects and manufacturing support activities.Establish department goals in support of projects and company-wide priorities.Contribute to the development of company engineering priorities, long term strategies and goals.Select, develop, train, and supervise staff. Perform employee performance reviews and salary administration.Communicate project status, departmental accomplishments and issues to all levels of management.Perform high degree of both internal and external personnel interfaces.QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES:To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:BS degree (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Automation) with 8-10 years experience in an Engineering position where at least part of it was gained in an FDA/GMP regulated environment.Engineering and/or manufacturing experience in the pharmeceutical, chemical, food, beverage, or consumer goods industry.2-5 years management experience of at least one large, multi-disciplinary project.2-5 years management experience with demonstrated leadership skills.2-5 years budget responsibility.B.Braun offers an excellent benefits package, which includes healthcare, a 401(k) plan, company sponsored pension, and tuition reimbursement.
