Manager, Strategic Planning

Onyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company committed to improving the lives of people with cancer by changing the way cancer is treated™. The company, in collaboration with Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals, Inc., is developing and marketing Nexavar® (sorafenib) tablets, a small molecule drug. Nexavar is currently approved for the treatment of liver cancer and for the treatment of advanced kidney cancer. Additionally, Nexavar is being investigated in several ongoing trials in non-small cell lung cancer, melanoma, breast cancer, and other tumor types. Onyx also has a small molecule cell cycle inhibitor for treating cancer resulting from a collaboration with Pfizer. Pfizer is in early clinical development with this compound.

JOB SUMMARY:   This position will conduct and lead strategic planning and strategic analysis projects

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Supports the Director Strategic Planning by Analyze key strategic issues Conduct annual planning process and updates throughout the year Conduct analyses of strategic and tactical questions Partner with Finance counterparts to develop long range financial plan and goals Lead and participate in multidisciplinary teams across commercial, clinical, corporate development and finance departments Provide strategic analysis support for commercial, development and corporate development projects Prepare materials for Board of Directors meetings Special projects and other analytical support as needed



EDUCATION AND SKILLS:

  Demonstration of outstanding achievement 2-5 years relevant industry and/or financial or consulting services experience High attention to detail, works accurately and quickly, and has good organizational skills Customer focus and positive attitude Excellent Excel spreadsheet skills and proficiency with other Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Requires excellent communication skills, written and oral, through all levels of the organization Energetic, flexible team player with the ability to adapt in a changing environment BA, BS required
