Position: Manager, Strategic Marketing
The Manager, Strategic Marketing is central to the development and commercialization of BG Medicine’s in vitro diagnostic products and execution of the business strategy. He/she will be responsible for analyzing new biomarker opportunities, as well as coordinating and driving activities related to developing new diagnostic products. The successful candidate has an appreciation for clinical diagnostics market and product subtleties, and an appreciation for geographic market differences. He/she will be routinely called upon to communicate that market and commercial knowledge to executive committee members.
Role and Responsibilities: Will contribute to all aspects of the diagnostics business plan, including:
· Establish product specifications for new in vitro diagnostic products
· Analyze market opportunities for existing biomarker portfolio.
· Build and maintain an in vitro diagnostics competitive database.
· Identify and analyze new diagnostic business opportunities consistent with BG strategy; develop presentations for executive team
· Establish and nurture relationships with key opinion leaders.
· Work with industry partners to support execution of diagnostics strategy.
· Support all aspects of in vitro diagnostic product commercialization, including product positioning and pricing, publications and presentation, market development, and sales education and training
· Develop a market research plan for the diagnostics products.
· Assist in the implementation of product development programs
· Hands-on role in the execution of new diagnostic product programs.
Requirements:
· A BS degree in life sciences; an advanced degree in science (MS) or business (MBA) a strong plus
· Minimum of 5 years experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical or
clinical diagnostics industry
· Minimum of 3 years proven success in a strategic product marketing and IVD product commercialization
· Demonstrated analytical and business opportunity assessment skills
· Strong organizational and project management skills
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Demonstrated leadership, strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
· Willingness to travel 20-25%
