The outcomes produced by this group play a pivotal role in guiding the future direction and success of the company. The New Product Group's mission includes providing expert opinion and guidance on current and future markets and opportunities, competitive forces and trends, and strategic environment changes, with emphasis on actionable applications towards prospective and existing assets. This position will play an integral role in the company's strategic decision-making and opportunity assessment function through providing objective, in-depth, analysis and recommendations on both new product opportunities presented to the company and on what future commercial opportunities should the company actively seek. This individual will be assigned key therapeutic areas of commercial and scientific interest for which they will provide an objective commercial viewpoints based on an in-depth understanding and analysis of commercial, clinical, and scientific competitive information. Additionally, this position may include work on commercialization of pre-phase III products that are associated with the assigned key therapeutic areas.   Develop and maintain ownership for commercial and scientific expertise of key therapeutic areas Build the vision for what these markets might look like five to ten years in the future, including how changes in diagnostics, clinical guidelines, and new therapies, will shape the landscape Develop competitive intelligence and become the key source of information on the project and the future marketplace dynamics. Review market research, industry trends, study results, competitor profiles, promotional activity levels, product positioning, pricing, scientific reviews Develop and forecast future product opportunities, competitive products, and partner sales and profits. Provide fact-based commercial analysis utilizing primary and secondary market research and opinion leader input to support go/no go decisions Identify alternative strategies, quantifying risks, and forecasting product sales and profits under various scenarios. Present strategic options and recommendations to licensing project team and senior management Develop commercialization plans for new product acquisitions, including ideal product positioning, pricing, reimbursement, pre-marketing and launch plans, life cycle and patent strategies. Recommend the data package required at launch. Further develop options for these products as new go/no go decision points are reached REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor's degree required; advanced business or scientific degree preferred Minimum of 3-5 years in pharmaceutical business development strategic marketing, or new product marketing, alternatively, a minimum of 4-5 years in product management, market research, or R&D project management experience within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry Familiarity with the drug development process is required Pharmaceutical sales experience is a plus Strong hands-on knowledge of and fluency with pharmaceutical product and market forecasting, P&L statements, and market research Knowledge of clinical development, regulatory issues, and market dynamics in the pharmaceutical industry Experience as an active participant in launching or marketing a pharmaceutical product The ability to work with senior leaders and other cross-functional groups to define complex issues and build consensus around decisions Highly developed planning and prioritization skills Excellent, persuasive and logical written and oral communications skills Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint Highly creative, self-motivated, and able to independently structure and complete complex analyses Positive, can-do attitude with a strong record of developing and leading solutions to issues  This position is seen as the commercial lead for the assigned development projects. They are expected to be the representative to Business Development, Licensing, and R&D for the marketing input and the primary representative to commercial counterparts in partner companies. The candidate will need to be highly adept at lateral leadership skills.
