Position Description:

Perform Purchasing activities within scope of the specific area, such as local streams, regional spend categories or global Purchasing families according to the defined policies and processes. Role includes maintaining the interface between vendor markets and internal customers and ensuring the procurement of Company goods and services at the best market conditions (Quality, Service, Cost, Delivery and Innovation).- Understand the customer’s demands and views in order to optimize them.- Optimize the products/services/vendors portfolio in order to improve purchasing efficiency.- Communicate to customers the relevant purchasing policies/guides/procedures and ensure their application to Company purchasing practices.-Adapt reporting and analyze the information in order to direct activity and implement corrective actions.-Conduct technological intelligence about purchasing practices, products/services/markets in order to consolidate professionalism within the job. -Support Customer requirements via electronic and manual procedures ensuring efficient processing of requisitions, POs & RFPs.As a Lead Buyer, the individual develops and maintains an intelligence specific to their individual specialty. This information is utilized in a pro-active manner to further enhance the skills of their fellow team members and compliment their existing knowledge. Residing in a Global Spend Team, the individual will need to overcome the barriers inherent in multiple varied cultures and geographic areas. The individual will need to develop themselves as a leader in their respective skills area to the needs of their customers and peers on the team. Qualifications:

BS/BA required. MBA preferred. Five to ten years previous purchasing experience with a combination of tactical and strategic purchasing skills developed.
