McNeil Consumer Healthcare is most widely recognized for the complete line of TYLENOL® acetaminophen products, the leading pain reliever brand in the adult and pediatric categories. The TYLENOL® product line consists of hundreds of products across a variety of pain categories. Other brands include IMODIUM® A-D anti-diarrheal, which is marketed in more than 60 countries, ST. JOSEPH® Adult Regimen Aspirin and MOTRIN® IB. The Manager, Portfolio Leadership and Pipeline Management will be accountable for: Portfolio leadership for the global OTC business across Global Business Units (GBU) and Global Marketing Organization (GMO) markets. This includes leading the organization toward attainment of business and strategic plans for growth, clear communication of status (gaps, risks) vs. plans, enhancing project and process competencies for success in the Over the Counter (OTC) matrix structure, and driving strategic investment decision-making && prioritization. The Manager will be responsible for Pipeline Management for assigned governing bodies (franchises and/or regions), including managing the VantEDGE business && stage-gate governance process for new product and claims development in assigned regions (North America, Europe/Middle Eeast/Asia, Asia Pacific, Latin America) and global franchises (Smoking Cessation, Upper Respirtory, Pain, Digestive Health), leading decision making in governance forums, management of governance meetings, driving linkages between global projects and local execution, and helping to create project links across regions The Manager, Portfolio Leadership and Pipeline Management is responsible for the project portfolio, inclusive of new products, new claims, && regional rollouts across assigned markets. He/She will work closely with regional management boards and cross-functional leaders from dedicated && shared service functions to drive business results. The manager is a business leader capable of operating at multiple levels within the organization; from supporting project teams to strategic insight and analysis. He/She will contribute to the assessment, optimization and prioritization of both franchise specific and global portfolios, to influence decisions that best promote business needs when faced with conflicting priorities and/or constrained resources. A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required, with a degree in Finance, Business, or Science/Engineering preferred. An Advanced Degree (MBA, MS, PhD) would be a plus. A minimum of 5 years of experience within the OTC, consumer products and/or pharmaceutical industries is required, with 10 years of total business experience desired. Strong project management skills required, with a minimum of 3 years of experience leading cross-functional teams. Experience in at least one area: Research && Development, Operations, Marketing, Project Management, Portfolio Management, and/or Finance is required; experience in multiple areas desired. Familiarity with portfolio management at a franchise / business unit level is required, with 5+ years of experience in portfolio management preferred. Must have experience with new product development processes. International experience is preferred. Understanding of financial principles and how to leverage this knowledge to make sound business decisions and/or recommendations is required. Must be familiar with project value forecasting, discounted cash flows and Net Present Value, Gross Margin, Breakeven, Payback, ROI, IRR, and Productivity Indices. Demonstrated ability to consolidate, optimize and prioritize a portfolio of assets under constraints including allocating and re-allocating resources (budgets, FTEs) across the portfolio is preferred. Ability to work in a global matrixed environment, with senior level management, and ability to influence and present sensitive information to all levels of the organization is required. Ability to work with data and information to provide insight to the organization is required. Must have excellent communication, verbal and written, and presentation skills.
