Manager, Manufacturing Engineering
Job Summary Provides advanced technical support toward the accomplishment of manufacturing engineering team objectives.General Functions § Implements assigned projects in a timely and efficient manner and tracks and reports results appropriately.§ Assists in the development of research and testing project plans and scheduling of test programs.§ Monitors manufacturing for advancement relevant to the assigned project objectives. § Consults with and provides technical evaluations for other departments (Quality, Product Development, etc.). § Will work with test requestors to develop test programs, formulate test protocols, and choose appropriate test equipment. This will include supervision of fabrication or selection of new equipment as required.§ May have supervisory responsibilities or serve as a specialist in the application of engineering principles or work processes.§ Support quality control in deciding the next course of action for product held in material review board.§ Generate mechanisms required to implement processes and manage product flow (e.g. routers, prints, BOMs).This is not an exhaustive list of duties or functions and may not necessarily comprise all of the "essential functions" for purposes of the ADA.Expected Areas of Competence (i.e. KSAs) § Advanced knowledge of materials research/testing operations.§ Advanced knowledge of materials science, manufacturing processes and research technologies.§ Works effectively and productively with all departments, and effectively builds teams to accomplish a task.§ Demonstrates ownership for the integrity of a project.§ Sorts through options quickly and chooses appropriate test method, analysis method, and experimental design.§ Possesses strong problem-solving capabilities, able to perform failure analysis, develop testing methodologies and execute materials characterization studies.Education/Experience Requirements Bachelors degree in engineering science or related field. Advanced degree preferred. Six years of manufacturing engineering experience required. Two years of supervisory experience required.Skill Requirements Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Project. Must have demonstrated experience in engineering project management. Strong oral and written communication skills required.Travel Requirements Minimum overnight travel (up to 10%) by land or air.Education: BachelorsJob Level: 6 - 7 yearsPercent Travel: 11-20%
