There is no better time to join us! General Purpose and Scope: · To develop and manage the environmental health and safety program for Labs North America.            Essential Job Duties:· Manages and administers environmental, health, and safety programs to meet regulatory requirements and company goals.· Performs supervisory duties including full range of recruitment and performance evaluation activities, schedules work, prepares training plans, guides career development, and executes Affirmative Action goals in department.· Ensures development of facility-wide policies, procedures, and safety training programs (e.g., OSHA Lab Standards, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, evacuations, lockout/tagout) to meet regulatory and company policies.· Appoint Chemical Hygiene Officers, Respirator Program Administrators and any other relevant positions.· Follow environmental and safety regulatory developments and determine applicability to Labs North America.· Ensure accident investigations are completed and oversee the Worker's Compensation program.· Actively promotes environmental, health, and safety activities, participates in committees and meetings, and provides miscellaneous services.Experience:· 12 years related experience, preferably in a chemical or toxicology laboratory. Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist a plus. Education:· BS or MS degree in Occupational Safety, Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene or related field. Â At Covance, we help make the miracles of medicine a reality.
