The Compensation & Benefits Manager will design, implement and administer all compensation and benefits programs for the Tech Ops, HR, Quality, IT & Commercial Operations functions. This position will manage compensation projects and conduct on-going market analysis to ensure that base and incentive compensation remains competitive with industry trends. Responsibilities In a consultant capacity, provides guidance, recommendations and solutions to HR Business Partners, staffing and line management on issues regarding compensation programs, policies, systems and communications. Monitor processes to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Completes analysis of external market data to assess the competitiveness of compensation for client groups. Identify and research trends, prepare necessary exhibits and recommendations to HR and management. Conducts job evaluations to determine appropriate leveling and FLSA classification as well as ensure internal equity of positions across job families. Identifies internal comparisons; recommends band and salary changes. Interviews managers and incumbents to obtain position information. Manages the annual review process for assigned client groups, including salary and bonus administration, analysis, and reporting. Provides training to employees and management on annual compensation programs. Completes annual salary surveys and ensures submission is accurate by auditing & analyzing the data. Oversees the analysis of salary survey data used to determine structure movement and merit budget. Maintains HRIS systems including market reference range database and compensation planning tool. Interprets local, state and federal laws regulating compensation practices and modifies company policy and practice to maintain compliance. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Significant compensation experience required (minimum 5 - 7 years). Proficient with compensation principles and practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented, organized and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Advanced skills in Excel, Word, Power Point and Access. Understanding of HRIS and web-based information delivery. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to determine financial impact of compensation designs and strategies. Some travel (approximately 10%) to site locations around the world including California, North Carolina, Latin America, Germany, Italy and UK.Novartis Vaccines & Diagnotics is a new division of Novartis consisting of two businesses focusing on the development of preventive treatments and tools.
