With a focus on biopharmaceutical discovery, development, manufacturing, and commercialization, we believe our ability to advance improvements and innovations in patient care will be greatly enhanced by our fully integrated capabilities.POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe incumbent will be accountable for maintenance and repair of PCS equipment, performing preventive maintenance, PCS testing, documenting findings for all PM, repairs or testing and reporting any discrepancies found. Responsibilities also include, providing PCS expertise to engineering group regarding renovations and new construction or reviewing plans and specifications, when required, to assure consistency with standards.-Responsible for performing PCS craft scheduled work orders including PM, repair and project assistance -Responsible for achieving planned maintenance work schedules-Responsible for assessing suitability and accuracy of PCS Calibration and PM procedures and providing feedback to the document owner (Reliability Engineering)-Responsible for performing maintenance work schedule in collaboration with Planning/Scheduler -Responsible for compliance with standards-Engineering standards and practices-cGMP, data recording and reporting for work orders-Responsible for troubleshooting and repairs of all PCS equipment-Responsible for performing pre-task plan and JSA’s-Responsible for providing support to Project Management group installations and inquiries for expertise-Responsible for interacting with Plant Engineer directly to provide problem solving expertise on specific PCS related issues and problems in support of site PCS systems.-Responsible for supervising the work activities of the PCS Maintenance contractors-Responsible for interfacing with Production steam maintenance scheduler and providing craft support for troubleshooting and repairs of equipment-Responsible for reviewing all completed work orders and verifying completion of work, reporting discrepancies, verifying work order history is complete and closing out work order -Responsible for providing input to reliability group related to reliability issues or adverse trends-Responsible for providing technical or manpower support to attain Reliability of equipment-Supporting and supervising outside PCS technical contractors-Responsible for commitment to health, safety and protection of the environment: The incumbent supports Bayer BP Berkeley's commitment to safety by complying with the programs regarding health, safety and protection of the environment. The incumbent demonstrates safe work practices, takes part in safety meetings as required, and advises relevant personnel (e.g. supervisor, etc.) of any non-conforming conditions.POSITION REQUIREMENTS-Minimum experience 2 years.-Calibration experience necessary in biopharmaceutical (cGMP) environment.-Knowledge of calibration procedures for pressure, level, temperature, and flow transmitters, also the ability to calibrate conductivity, pH, and UV devices. -Must be able to replace, repair, and tune sanitary valves, sliding stem control valves, rotating control valves, and valve actuators/positioners. -Documentation requirements mandate the ability to properly complete controlled documentation associated with the calibration and PM process. -Process equipment familiarity include sterilization, fermentation and fill/freeze dry. Physical Qualifications: Must be able to climb and work from ladders, have complete range of motion, ie. stoop, bend, squat, etc., and identify colors. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. including overhead, and maneuver up to 1200 lbs. on a wheeled cart. Extensive standing and walking. Must be able to read, write and speak English in order to understand written and oral instructions, warning signs, fill out log books and complete forms required to meet FDA documentation requirements, as well as communicate with other site personnel.
