The primary objective of the Lean/Six Sigma Program Manager is to coordinate and strategically lead improvement initiatives across the facility and supply chain. The Lean/Six Sigma Program Manager will utilize problem solving, and lean/sigma tools as well as training, coaching, and influence skills to achieve specific organizational goals through a strong team environment.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION

 

A key responsibility will be to provide the leadership necessary to move AMS to a Lean/Six Sigma Enterprise view, to manage large projects to attain that vision, and to educate and train AMS personnel on the value and impact lean and six sigma can have on an organization. The candidate must possess excellent communication skills, be able to work in a collaborative environment and above all work with honesty and integrity.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·   Provide expertise, coordinate and lead the implementation of plant-wide lean/six sigma manufacturing efforts, integrating lean manufacturing and six sigma disciplines, and principles in all departments, through close collaboration with departmental managers.

·  Mentor others in lean manufacturing and six sigma concepts and promote the lean sigma culture in the organization. Work with colleagues to help identify, realize and optimize solutions within the economic capability of the plant.  Serves as the Lean/Six Sigma technical content expert and build organizational sustainability of process improvement knowledge and strategies.

·  Identify, target and prioritize areas and processes for the application of improvement processes.  Determine the appropriate tools and methodologies and timing of improvement activity to achieve business objectives.

·  Facilitate cross-functional expert team workshops.  Provide targeted education, leadership, and guidance throughout the workshop process.  Work with area management to ensure successful follow up to workshops. Lead teams where appropriate to demonstrate and realize optimal lean sigma solutions.Conduct training in all phases of lean manufacturing and six sigma principles.Extend Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to the supply chain where appropriate.

·  Implement and report on lean metrics and benefits to executive management. Discover application opportunities for continuous improvement strategies and tools.

·  Manage to financial and project delivery expectations.

·  Educate and coach employee to become change agents utilizing Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.

·  Achieve a strong business culture of Continuous Improvement.

·  Maintain currency of knowledge and information regarding the use of Lean/Six Sigma methods and tools in regard to complex, high visibility performance measurement and management initiatives.

·  Maintain compliance to corporate governance standards.  (i.e. Sarbanes-Oxley, FDA Class III guidance, Corporate SOPs, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION
· B.S. degree required; M.S. degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

 

 

· Demonstrated leadership ability to translate integrated process management concepts

· Ability to teach and facilitate groups through complex analyses. 

· Strong interpersonal skills which include influencing others to meet strategic goals. 

· Strong financial analysis and planning skills. Lean Champion certification a plus.

· Eight to 15 years of progressive manufacturing experience, preferably in a Lean
Manufacturing environment

·  Proficiency with Lean/Six Sigma tools and methodologies acquired through formal training and/or direct work experience with a certified Master Black Belt.

·  Demonstrated analytical skills.  Process Oriented – Experience in, or working with process mapping, value mapping, and process analysis. 

·  Strong knowledge in all aspects of project management including but not limited to requirements gathering, analysis design, planning, testing, documentation, and production implementation. 

·  Experience in training and applying Lean/Six Sigma methodologies encompassing Lean, DMAIC (Design-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control), and DFSS (Design For Six Sigma). 

·  Strong demonstrated team leadership and relationship skills. 

·  Familiarity with audit, compliance, and Quality System process requirements. 

·  Excellent verbal & written communication skills; strong interpersonal and influencing skills. 

·  Highly results oriented; ability to effect change in a high paced environment.  8 years experience in the application of Lean/Six Sigma tools & Methodologies with at least 5 years as a certified Black Belt or equivalent leading multi-dimensional process improvement projects.
