Lead Software Engineer- Infrastructure
Responsibilities include:
Lead the software project team through the design and development of an imaging infrastructure system for storing, retrieving and viewing medical images. You will actively collaborate with product management, engineers, IT professionals and clinical user populations to guide the product to a successful introduction.
Work in cross-functional project teams that include Development, Hardware, Firmware, Research, Marketing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Usability, and Customer Support
Take ownership of all software development related activities for the project. Help to maintain the schedule for the software project team, direct task allocation within the software team, ensure that software development activities comply with regulations and procedures, report status and communicate issues clearly.
Develop detailed requirements, functional specifications, and design documents and implementing well-documented, testable, high quality code
Contribute to software process definition, take ownership of specific areas and lead the team in adoption of all processes
Understand and follow quality system procedures that are applicable to the job
Evaluate and recommend new technologies and third party software products
Understand key business initiatives and develop practical or innovative alternative approaches to meet tactical and strategic goals.
Coach and mentor project team members.
Communicate with internal and external customers to better understand their needs and concerns
Required Skills: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or high school diploma/GED with significant relevant professional experience)
Minimum of 5 years experience with C#, .NET, C++, MFC environment and object oriented technology in general.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows-based operating systems and experience delivering commercial software products on Windows, both desktop and web-based
You must be willing to take a drug test.

You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without work sponsorship at the time of hire.
Desired Characteristics:
Masters Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Familiar with start-up company culture and ability to help create and thrive in that environment
Background in regulated industries, prefer familiarity with bringing FDA regulated software products to market.
Familiarity with medical image or video storage or document management systems and/or a working knowledge of Healthcare interoperability standards, systems and operations
Understanding of image capture & generation hardware and how to acquire, compress and store images from hardware devices
Understanding of hardware and software solutions for image lifecycle management in environments producing more than 100 TB per year
Familiarity with working in a distributed, global software development environment
One or more years experience leading a software team and a record of delivering quality projects on time, proven organizational skills, excellent project/program planning skills
Proven ability to learn new technologies and tools quickly and work in a highly collaborative team-oriented environment.
Good understanding of Agile software development principles including full-life cycle software development, proven ability to lead engineering teams working in an Agile methodology environment
Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment ... must be responsive and willing to take ownership of issues and drive solutions. Can lead change, personally adaptable & able to perform well under pressure
Proven communication, coaching and interpersonal skills, at all levels of the organization, must be able to energize and inspire.
