SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES: â€¢ Is responsible for providing technical expertise to assigned project teams. At the beginning of the project and at key milestones thereafter, defines the technical activities (technical scope) that meet the needs of the customer and Client, in conjunction with the line manager.• Represents the Formulation Research & Development department at both internal team meetings and customer meetings relating to assigned projects that may be of diverse scope (including other technologies).• Coordinates with Analytical Research & Development, Pilot Plant, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and other groups to ensure project requirements are met.• Designs, and interprets experimental studies intended to provide supporting data or to resolve technical issues encountered during each project. Defines technical objectives and conveys them to other members of the project team.• Delegates or executes technical activities, lab work etc.• Resolves technical issues and drives the completion of investigations that affect the technical scope, makes recommendations for various options that would resolve the issue, including a preferred option.• Works independently, supervised on an “as neededâ€� basis, recognizes key issues likely to affect successful and/or timely completion. For those issues that cannot be resolved by the project team, brings them to the attention of the line manager.• Provides instruction and guidance to other members of staff who are provided to assist with technical work. Agrees work schedules in order to ensure timely completion of the required activities.• When requested, provides support to quoting for new business by establishing a technical scope, and working with other interested parties to complete the process in the agreed timeframe.• Proposes and implements recommendations to processes and procedures designed to increase efficiency, safety or quality.• Supports the progress of projects through the technology transfer process by providing technical summaries at key stages during the project as requested.• For assigned manufacturing responsibilities, provides technical support to the pilot plant by establishing the requirements for pilot plant batch manufacturing and overseeing the execution of such studies. Available for consultation during clinical or commercial batch manufacture.• Understands revenue associated with each project phase.
