Job Description Large Volume Custom Sales Account Manager Responsible for sales and related support activities for Large Volume & Custom (LVC) Pierce Protein Research Products of Thermo Fisher Scientific, in an assigned territory.  Duties & Responsibilities: Achievement of assigned territory LVC sales and profit goals within plan by proactively calling on existing and potential new customers via telephone, on-site visits and email communications. Develop strategic LVC business plan for territory, and report on progress versus plan on a regular basis.  Responsible for LVC lead generation by focusing on specific customer segments that can utilize our products in large volume. Regularly report on status of LVC leads, and progress to closing sale.   Must follow specific guidelines relating to what products and quantities constitute LVC business, and also assure acceptable profitability for LVC products sold.   Maintain appropriate records per Company guidelines, and as directed by Manager.  Gather, process, and disseminate competitive intelligence and market feedback. Work closely with the appropriate Proteomics Applications Specialist to pursue and develop LVC leads. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: Must have experience with protein chemistry, molecular biology, immunology, cell biology via prior work experience and education. Travel: Overnight travel up to 25% of the time for assigned territory.Other: Valid driver’s license, acceptable motor vehicle, car insurance and acceptable driving record. Education and Work Experience: Bachelors Degree in Life Sciences. Advanced degree preferred. Minimum 2 years sales or support experience in life science research industry serving academic, industrial, medical school, hospital, government, biotech and biopharmaceutical accounts. Other Skills: Ability to communicate in oral and written form in an effective manner.   Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and ability to network in an effective and professional manner with external companies and within the internal organization.   Demonstrate high level of organizational skills to manage multiple sales opportunities on an efficient basis to maximize revenue opportunity.
