Laboratory Director

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Oversee the day to day scientific operations of the existing CLIA laboratory

Eatablish standard operating procedures for new tests being commercialized

Assure that the requirements of the CLIA laboratory are met

Assure that the company's licenses are maintained

Recommend and implement new genetic testing platforms

Support the partnered and non-partnered research and development programs

Oversee any inspections from regulatory authorities

Review, finalize and sign test report from customers

Translate research results into commercial tests

Provide technical evaluation on strategic opportunities

Supervise group

Requirements
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Requires a PhD advanced degree in sciences with the appropriate certifications for a CLIA laboratory director, plus 10 years of experience as a laboratory director.

In addition, candidate should possess the following:

Familiarity with state-of-the-art genetic and diagnostic testing technologies and other relevant current, scientific technologies

Expertise and knowledge of how to obtain and synthesize information from various sources, including the ability to critically evaluate and filter pertinent information related to the products

Specialized subject knowledge appropriate to the organization (scientific, diagnostic, pharmaceutical, etc.)

Ability to organize and disseminate efficiently the information obtained.

Capable of acting independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.

Ability to maintain flexibility and is easily adaptable to continuous change.

Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management, both internally and externally. Makes sound recommendations to senior management based on assimilated information.

Requires excellent communication skills and the ability to resolve problems efficiently

Requires hands-on in laboratory service
