Lab Technician
Description of Essential Functions:
t Make batches for chemists
t Supervised formulation work including reformulations, globalization and other as assigned.
t Monitor stability on each batch made including scale up and pilot.
t Work with chemist and QA to set specifications for new products and sign off on batches.
t Work with chemist and process lab to write and maintain manufacturing procedures for each product.
t Assist in the scale up and pilot of products.
t Research and source novel raw materials and technologies that meet the company's mission through information search engines (Nerac), seminars, and suppliers.
t Some interaction with external departments (, purchasing, operations, quality assurance,raw material administration) when necessary.
t Various lab duties including housekeeping and supply maintenance.
POSITION PURPOSE: Assure that all equipment and the environments are cleaned appropriately prior to the production day.
EDUCATION, PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE, SPECIALIZED SKILL OR KNOWLEDGE:
·Minimum of 3-5 years of 3-5 years experience in the Food/Pharmaceudical or Personal Care products industry.
·Neatness, attention to detail and good organizational skills a plus.
·Personal Computer skills – MS Word, MS Excel and Windows ’95.
·Good communication skills, both written and oral

·Must be able to work independently and as a team member.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS:
·Must be able to lift waist high and carry up to 50 pounds.
·Must be able to go up and down stairs several times a day.
·Must be able to remain on feet for extended periods of time.
·Must be able to work under pressure yet maintain skills needed to perform functions as decribed.
·Must have a positive attitude and develop good working relationships with other departments in the company.
·Maintain a clean and efficient working environment.
