Products are marketed through four divisions: Ethicon Products for precise wound closure and tissue repair; Cardiovations for minimally invasive cardiac procedures; Ethicon Women's Health && Urology for minimally invasive women's health procedures; and Johnson && Johnson Wound Management for hemostasis and advanced wound care. Ethicon Inc, a member of Johnson && Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for an Industrial/Lean Manufacturing Engineer, located in San Angelo, TX. Under the direction of the Process Excellence Manager, the Industrial / Lean Manufacturing Engineer carries out assignments and leads projects delivering breakthrough results with the use of Process Excellence Six Sigma techniques and Lean Manufacturing tools. The selected candidate will lead, coordinate and facilitate the implementation of Lean Manufacturing efforts. Develop and implement lean training programs and facilitate organizational learning. Oversee all aspects of the lean manufacturing initiatives including set-up reduction, workplace organization, standardized work, process/work flow improvements, visual management and cellular production processes. Conceive, develop and implement Lean Manufacturing processes to improve efficiencies, increase productivity and/or improve quality. Develop, implement plant layouts and space plans through the use of lean manufacturing concepts. Develop, implement and maintain processes to measure and manage production results versus goals. Maintain Plant Dashboard. Facilitate and support business process mapping teams to eliminate non-value added activities. Support Base Business in Capacity Analysis, route development, waste analysis, and business plan preparation. Maintain planning parameters in ERP. In addition, the Industrial/Lean Manufacturing Engineer will understand business impact of his/her technical actions and both follow and observe all regulatory requirements (GMP's, ISO, FDA, internal policies) applicable to area of responsibility. This person will comply with J&&J Safety/Environmental Requirement and safe working conditions and practices in the department. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field is required. Master's degree a plus. A minimum of 3 years applicable overall experience is required. Experience within a process improvement environment and/or a Six Sigma or Lean Green Belt Certification is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills are needed as are advanced computer skills including the use of software application(s) such as ERP and simulation / modeling. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and statistical skills. Strong knowledge in lean manufacturing principles: Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, one-piece flow, kanban, cellular manufacturing, Five S, Set-up Reduction, Visual Management. Position requires proven initiative, creativity, assertiveness and leadership abilities. Ability to work under pressure achieving consistently high results through individual and team efforts. Excellent interpersonal, influencing, communication, presentation, listening, negotiating and Problem-solving/decision-making skills. Ability to set priorities and achieve objectives. Practical application and working knowledge of project management and cost/benefit analysis. Capability of Capacity Planning, including productivity measurements, manpower planning and material flow. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific, technical journals and financial reports.
