Human Pathogen Analysis & Regulatory/Quality Control Manager

 

EMPLOYER: OmniLytics, Inc., a biotechnology company involved in the development of natural products to combat infectious diseases.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Characterize & Isolate a wide variety of BioSafety Level 2 organisms (bacteria and viruses) using microbial and molecular biology techniques; identify and prepare microbial specimens for examination, conduct research or assist in the conduct of research, including the collection of information and samples, such as water, soil, plants and animals, Duties include keeping detailed logs of all work-related activities, monitoring laboratory work to ensure compliance with set standards. Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints. Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems Set and monitor product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports, to detect production problems. Collaborate with workers and managers to solve work-related problems. Conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance

 

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors Degree in Microbiology or related field. Ability to work with human pathogens, follow SOPs, create quality control standards, process incoming samples and make timely decisions on product delivery. Candidates must be able to use scientific rules and methods to solve problems. Experience with quality control or quality assurance a plus. Experience or understanding of US and international regulatory agencies and policies a plus. Work with animal or plant pathogens also a plus. Must be very “hands-on”. Must be highly motivated with a positive attitude and have the ability to multi-task effectively and adapt quickly to rapidly developing opportunities. Must possess strong interpersonal, report writing, and oral communication skills. Must possess good management skills in training, monitoring and motivating employees towards successful completion of milestones and objectives. Job requires developing one's own ways of doing things, guiding oneself with little or no supervision, and depending on oneself to get things done. Equal Opportunity Employer.
