Hardware Engr ll
This entry-level position is a learning experience to provide the incumbent with details pertaining to hardware engineering. Position requires incumbent to assist at varying degrees in the testing, design and implementation of hardware systems and specifications for new and existing SpaceLabs products. Incumbent will review surveys and analyses of target projects requirements/feasibility for the purpose of learning about hardware and software recommendations under well-defined guidance and supervision. General duties include 1) a great percentage of the time spent testing and debugging new and existing product systems, 2) designing, reviewing the writing, implementation and integration of systems. Works under specifications; and 3) writing maintenance documentation for implemented systems. Works under close supervision and exercises limited independent judgment in compliance with SpaceLabs policies and procedures. Work environment warrants precision, organization, and attention to detail. Creativity and innovation is appreciatively noted. Understand and support Spacelabs Healthcare's mission, priorities and company values. - Assists in designing moderately complex systems or modules of complex systems by writing design documents and determining how a system/program of moderate complexity or modules of complex programs will be built. - Assists in the development of hardware systems and integrates with new and/or existing software specifications by designing and coding programs or modifications of programs. - Test and debugs systems by evaluating and validating programs/systems for completeness. - Reviews survey and analysis of user requirements by communicating with Software Engineers as to what the product should do, research and collect data to support this purpose to help generate the final outcome of the product or system. - Develops solutions by assisting in problem analysis in order to aid in implementing recommendations. - Assists in producing hardware systems/programs and other tools to improve work productivity and enhance target project schedules. - Writes maintenance documentation as needed. - Interfaces with departmental staff and Software Engineering by preparing or evaluating preliminary documentation and working with Manuals staff in creating documentation in order to provide technical support to in-house personnel. - Performs minor technical maintenance on equipment as required. - Assists Project Manager with special projects and other assignments as required. - Performs other duties as assigned. Position requires a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the areas of digital, analog devices and/or systems design preferred.
