Abbott Diabetes Care Division is currently seeking a Hospital Sales Specialist to achieve sales objectives of leading-edge blood glucose monitoring systems in the specified territory.

Primary Objectives:
Responsible for increasing sales of Abbott’s Diabetes Care Products within an assigned geography. Grow Abbott Diabetes Care business and brand loyalty within strategic accounts containing large diabetes clinics, hospital teaching institutions, and other major medical centers noted throughout the area for their expertise in training medical professionals and the diagnosis/ treatment of diabetes. Maintain an active and visible role with health care providers, retail, managed care, and strategic account representatives in order to facilitate pull-through programs to increase awareness and demand for the Abbott Diabetes Care product line. Frequent Interfacing with Field Sales, Marketing and the company’s Customer Base. Requires comprehensive knowledge of the sales and distribution aspects of the glucose monitoring business. Ability to evaluate information critically and make decisions based on the data. Ability to read behavioral cues and establish/maintain close business relations with high-level health care professionals.
Responsibilities:
Achieve/exceed sales objectives within assigned geographic territory by maintaining current diabetes base while increasing hospital marked share.Develops and maintains superior relationships with key diabetes decision makers and influencers.Effective in implementing customer loyalty initiatives.Exhibits proficiency in demonstrating all diabetes products, as required.Exhibits proficiency in demonstrating and training on all ancillary data management software in the Abbott Diabetes Care product family.Maintains a high profile with decision makers of the assigned strategic accounts.Maintains an active role with the local regional Health Care Provider team and Managers.Maintains an active role with the Managed Care Team.Facilities pull-through of programs with the retail teams.Arranges any training required within the strategic accounts.Maintains a high profile with the professional diabetes organizations in the assigned geographical area.Contracts and manages retail promotions to pharmacies located on the premises or connected with the assigned strategic accounts. Completes all administrative duties in a timely fashion.Maintains a high degree of professionalism with customers and peers.
Required/Preferred Candidate Qualifications / Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) requiredTwo years experience promoting Medical Devices to hospitals requiredTwo Years Experience in Diabetes Product Sales preferredExcellent strategic planning and project management skillsStrong written and oral communication skillsA high degree of social confidence and presentation skillsMust be willing to travel 40% - 50% during the work weekMust be willing to reside within the geographical area of the assigned area
