The GSS Analyst is involved in all aspects of research, programming and analysis activities related to i3 Global Site Services. This includes responsibility for all phases of trial analytic work including technical support, planning, health care research, analysis and reporting of studies. The Research Analyst will use available technology, public and proprietary data assets, UHG products and tools to support i3 objectives around achieving market differentiation through clinical development decision support designed to impact the CRO value chain. The Research Analyst will also partner with i3 therapeutic, technology, operation and business development leaders and teams to analyze, consult, and drive decision support that enables key business objectives and strategies. Major Responsibilities Work with site management groups for the purposes of providing decision support for site identification and patient recruitment Supports the translation of internal and external client needs into specific deliverables Responsible for supporting activity around the acquisition, analysis and reporting of administrative claims and clinical non-claims data Supports business development when focus is on assessing protocol feasibility and investigator identification Supports data and analytics related to i3 data standards activity Responsible for using SAS to analyze large medical claims database files (PC and UNIX) to support trial analytic efforts Preparation and quality assurance of study deliverables, including models, final reports, manuscripts, posters and presentations. Performs programming, statistical analyses and/or modeling and prepares required graphs, tables and figures using the appropriate software tools. Assisting and training Research Associates and Research Analysts on a project basis, and collaborating with other senior staff Qualifications 2 years of SAS programming experience required, preferably in the health care delivery field. Training and/or experience in health economics and/or outcomes research. Training and/or experience with the following software as appropriate: statistical, database, spreadsheet, decision support, graphics and text processing. Training and/or experience in computer programming. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. An established ability to work independently or as part of a team. Development of related software, tools, data analyses, communication skills and an understanding of the big picture on projects. Strong working knowledge of claims payment, medical management, and information systems. Working with a variety of data sources. Performs programming, statistical analyses and/or modeling and prepares required graphs, tables and figures using the appropriate software tools. Working with senior level programmers / programming datasets based on a complex health care data base. Design and develop sound data-based tools and applications necessary to efficiently measure, monitor, and/or forecast key therapeutic areas. Developing methodological strategies for prospective and retrospective studies.
