The Global Project Engineer performs engineering work related to Global Facilities and Manufacturing Capital Projects. This position involves managing all facets of a project such as planning, budgeting, design, scheduling, construction, startup and validation. Assignments will also include devising, or adapting methods to improve manufacturing production for increase cycle time for high velocity management. Examines equipment, processes, operations, and assembly to determine time or quality revisions, and suggests improvements. This position requires self-starter good organization skills, with independent thinking, deceive decision-making and quick action. This position is intended to be based in the US, but location in Latin America would be considered. There are presently no direct reports to this position; however the position may mentor less-experienced engineers at local sites.

Responsibilities & Duties Estimates budget for capital projects including facilities, process equipment, mechanical and electrical systems.Coordinates capital project planning with other project department group members and supervisor.Designates project timelines, establishes work priorities, and evaluates cost and time requirements.Works closely with contractors during all phase of scheduling, procurement and construction.Manages project budgets within the approved capital amount.Manages capital projects from conception to completion to meet pharmaceutical cGMP regulations.Requisitions equipment, components and supplies of engineering projects, interacting with vendors to obtain price and product information.Writes documentation and procedures associated with assigned capital projects. Provide operator training on capital equipment.Writes and performs validation IQ/OQ and PQ protocols and reports to meet cGMP regulations. Optimizes existing process in order to decrease manufacturing cycle times.Prepares project status reports for budget, schedule and task summary.When need arises troubleshoots design problems with department groups. Makes recommendations for project improvements.Supports safety processes, inspections and policies when traveling to local sites.Provides engineering support for all Global Colorcon Sites, but focuses on North America and Latin America.

 Required Skills

The ideal candidate will have project management and facilities maintenance experience in chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.An engineering background is required.  Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.Good understanding of cGMP for the pharmaceutical industry or excipient industry.5+ years of engineering project management experience, including direct management of construction projects, facility improvement projects and process improvement projects up to $3 million.Must be a team player, with strong skills to work independently, and manage people who do not report directly to this position.Strong project planning, scheduling, status reporting & project budget knowledge skills. Must be hands-on and have superior organizational skillsStrong oral & writing communications skills needed.Proficient in Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, VISIO, Oracle, AutoCAD.International experience is a plus, particularly with Latin American cultures.  Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus.
