Global Business Manager - Mass Spectrometry

The company is a leading provider in the production of analytical instrumentation used in many facets of the laboratory. This role contributes to the company's success by defining, developing and implementing strategic and tactical plans required for the successful growth and development of the multi-vendor Mass Spectrometry Service business.
The Opportunity:
Market Development and Product Planning.
Develop and implement the Multi-vendor Mass Spectrometry Service go-to-market strategy with the goal of identifying and capturing new customer business opportunities. Leverage new and existing relationships to foster new business opportunities across multiple Mass Spectrometry technologies, market verticals, and geographies. Work with the Service Marketing organization to develop a compelling value proposition and generate appropriate market awareness to achieve business objectives. Determine and manage appropriate creation and delivery processes for products. As a focus point for customer discussions, this person will ensure that customer expectations are consistently exceeded, creating future opportunities for retention and expansion.
Product Planning.
Develop and lead the worldwide implementation of a comprehensive strategy and tactical plan in support of the Multi-vendor Mass Spectrometry Service business. Lead all related product management functions including product development (NPIs, etc.), product operationalization (pricing, ERP set-up, etc.), financial planning (profitability, revenue objectives, etc.), and field deployment (inventory, technical support, training, etc.). Establish key Mass Spectrometry product metrics; monitor, evaluate, and report as appropriate.
Market Intelligence.
Maintain knowledge and expertise in Mass Spectrometry technologies and key market/industry developments. Monitor competitive activity and market trends, recommend appropriate strategies and actions to pre-empt or respond. Comprehend target markets and changing customer needs, adjust strategy as needed. Conduct market research necessary to support effective decision making.
Critical Success Factors
· Demonstrated expertise in Mass Spectrometry from a science, business, and instrument perspective.
· Demonstrable success in similar roles with territory and/or global responsibility. Direct knowledge and understanding of business management function.
· Customer-oriented, conducting job function with a primary focus on customer satisfaction and the voice of the customer.
· Must be passionate about performance excellence and revel in acting as a strong catalyst for positive change.
· Culturally adaptive and diplomatic, must be able to apply flexibility when needed while maintaining a consistent leadership position.
· Ability to multi task, prioritize, and deliver consistently excellent performance in an ever-changing environment.
· Willing to travel extensively (25 – 50%) in support of business needs.
· Ability to work effectively and influence others, at all levels, in a matrix environment to effectively move projects forward.
· Good analytical skills; working knowledge of financial statements and financial analysis.
· Entrepreneurial spirit; demonstrated ability to take appropriate calculated risks.
· Undergraduate degree in Sciences; MBA desirable. Scientific and technical background or knowledge in relevant scientific disciplines; product and either life science/clinical/pharmaceutical industry knowledge is essential

Scientific and technical background in relevant scientific disciplines; product and either life science/clinical/pharmaceutical industry knowledge is essential. Demonstrated experience in Mass Spectrometry. Demonstrated success with territory and/or global responsibility. Customer oriented; strong catalyst for positive change.
Ability to travel extensively.
