Position Summary

Through a collaborative and energetic style and guided by the strategic business objectives of the company, the General Manager will have responsibility for Metagenics’ North American Sales and Marketing organizations. A combination of vision and strategic planning are key requirements of this position in order to effectively implement the company’s business plans. The General Manager will be responsible for assuring that all sales and marketing activities are conducted legally as well as ethically, and designed to drive the company’s reputation for high quality science based products in order to achieve rapid growth of revenue and profit objectives. The General Manager will report to the President and is a key member of the company’s Performance Management Team

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesA strong and empowering leader who can motivate a team to think strategically, act collaboratively and execute with excellence on the company’s business plan.Provide leadership and set performance expectations that promote a companywide culture of great customer service, teamwork, and personal accountability in an atmosphere of success, growth and fun.Provide leadership and performance expectations to market and sell industry leading, high quality, science based products that serve the best interests of the end consumer by helping them to improve their health.Take the lead in communicating the values, mission, vision, strategy and objectives to the sales and marketing organizations.Help create, drive and achieve the company’s strategic business plan.Write and secure approval of annual sales and marketing business plan objectives and budget.Execute the annual sales and marketing business plan to achieve product development, sales, and profit goals. This requires evaluation of possible downsides and preparation of contingency plans.Create and drive cross functional sales and marketing process improvement programs to continuously improve sales growth and profits.Assure that the company is operated legally and ethically in compliance with all laws and regulations.Meet with the Executive Leadership Team and Performance Management Team to explain and develop sales and marketing strategies, approval of the annual business plan, ongoing progress toward achieving the business plan, tactical implementation and management performance, for the purpose of creating maximum value for customers, employees and shareholders.Educate the external business community regarding the mission and vision of the company to promote good will and build the image of the company.

Planning and Organizing—the individual prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans, carefully evaluating upsides and downsides to the planned activities and goals, and preparing appropriate contingency plans to insure achievement of revenue and income goals.



Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales or Marketing

Advanced degree in Business is desirable

Minimum of 15 years experience in sales and marketing management
