Provide the highest-level site leadership for operational activities of Covance Laboratories at assigned site, in collaboration with the Business Line Vice Presidents. This includes direction for strategic business units that are located at the site, including but not limited to Toxicology and Chemistry. Collaborate with and provide site guidance to support groups: IT, HR, EHS, Sales, Marketing, Client Services, Program Management, BPIC, Facilities, and Financial Services, as is applicable for the management of the site. Define, prioritize, and implement operational service delivery strategies to proactively support and position the site for growth. Duties and Responsibilities: • Provide site leadership for clients and regulatory visitors. • Provide direct leadership to site Operations staff and collaboration with Business Unit leaders. • Provide guidance to support groups involved in providing site services. • Ensure appropriate resource distribution for work acquired at assigned site. • Develop an operational plan to achieve strategic objectives for the business at assigned site. • Ensure financial results for site P&L, as well as other assigned metrics, are met or exceeded. • Ensure process, safety, and quality standards are met. • Oversee all facility and administrative planning, new service resource allocation, and site-specific support group programs. • Proactively defines and implements programs to ensure objectives for the site are met in the short and long term. Monitors progress toward meeting site goals and objectives, and takes corrective action as appropriate. • Responsible for site affirmative action, diversity, and communication programs. • Motivate and inspire individuals to achieve site objectives. • Provide performance standards, mentorship, and direction for the development of staff. • Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback regarding individual goals and achievements. Experience:• Minimum 12 years experience and demonstrated success in a variety of management situations, preferably in a variety of functions leading high-performing teams. • Prefer management experience in service industry. Healthcare industry experience a plus. • Capable of effectively functioning and leading in a matrix environment. • Requires Six Sigma orientation/ training/experience. • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement business strategy. • Demonstrated leadership experience, including an ability to motivate and deliver exceptional results through people. • Accomplishments that reflect teamwork, integrity and accountability. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment and deliver quality results in a growing organization. Education:• BS degree, MBA preferred, plus at least 12 years experience in an operational leadership role. • Highly skilled in performing presentations, leading meetings, and interacting with clients and regulatory authorities. • Possesses strong leadership skills and results orientation.
