Description of Duties:
Formulations Chemist / R&D Chemist will be responsible for formulating bulk solutions which includes weighing of hazardous chemicals, equipment set-up and adjustment of bulk solutions using WFI or acids/bases for pH as required. Prepare, inspect, maintain and make minor repairs to Formulation equipment. Maintain, organize and clean all formulation tank and equipment storage areas. Formulations Chemist will verify equipment is calibrated within set parameters prior to use; for example and is not limited to scales, temperature monitors, etc. Maintain a positive/professional interaction with customers providing accurate information and feedback. Formulations Chemist will recommend and initiate maintenance activities to ensure the Formulation rooms/Filtration rooms remain in compliance with an acceptable clean appearance at all times. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
Formulations Chemist / R&D Chemist applicants are required to have a four-year degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical, Biology or related field. Must have working knowledge of chemicals and chemical interactions. Strong mathematical skills and be detail oriented. Must have demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communications and interpersonal relations. Must have motor skills and physical ability to operate production equipment including the ability to lift 100lbs if needed. Demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.
