Financial Analyst
Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc. (OAPI) is a successful, innovative, fast-growing healthcare company that commercializes Otsuka-discovered and other product opportunities in North America, with a strong focus on and commitment to neuroscience, cardiovascular and gastrointestinal therapeutic treatments.
Otsuka is seeking a Financial Analyst for our Princeton, NJ office who will perform a key role as a business partner with both the global strategy planning and R&D groups. The responsibilities of this position include: contract review and compliance; investigator and CRO expensing; invoice management and compliance; budgeting and forecasting; and, variance and business analysis. Additional responsibilities include supporting the Finance Manager as required.
The specific duties assigned to the Financial Analyst are as follows: Coordinate, develop, and analyze all activities in the preparation and delivery of the annual budget and forecasts, with limited supervision. As part of a matrix organization, this involves working independently with functional areas as well as project teams. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for senior management, project leadership, and department managers. This includes variance analysis of revenues and expenses. Prepare monthly project allocation reports and maintain reliable files to allow for flexible reporting of different periods electronically. Timely processing of contract payments, accuracy of R&D and global strategy planning expensing models, and promptly addressing contract payment issues. Provide analysis and review of R&D Costs to assist in negotiating cost effective contracts. Proactively provide analysis of project costs to determine trends and unusual results and report these findings to Senior Management. Assist in educating OAPI, OPDC, and OMML employees on the Procurement to Pay (P2P) process.Perform ad hoc financial analysis as required.
The successful candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:BS/BA degree in Finance, Accounting, or closely related field of study required. Minimum of 4-6 years experience with demonstrated success in the responsibilities identified required. Pharmaceutical/Biotech experience preferred but not required.Knowledge of Hyperion Essbase a plus.High degree of proficiency with computer technology and Microsoft Office software.Ability to think critically, conceptually and analytically.Excellent interpersonal (team player/ability to work cross functionally) skills required.Ability to multi-task with numerous customer groups and adapt to rapid change on an ongoing basis.
